Paste an address or choose a ready-made category. No limit on how many.
Turn focus on
25, 50, 90 minutes, or until you turn it off. The icon shows how long is left.
Land on a calm screen, not a wall
When you try to open it, Austral shows up — no lecture and no shortcut. To open it anyway, you switch it off from the icon. No password, no trick.
Limits, no fine print
What Austral does not do
No extension can, and anyone promising that is lying. If you want out, you are out.
It cannot: the extension asks for no site access permission and injects no code into any page. It blocks by address, not by what is written there.
Chrome disables extensions in incognito by default, and we cannot change that on our own.
For now, desktop browser only.
That is the point. The tool exists to support your intention, not to lock you up.

Sync is the only subscription, and only because a server has a bill every month. If you never want to sync anything, you will never need it.

The doubts that come up
Can you see the sites I visit?
No, and it is not a matter of trust. The extension talks to no server at all. Install it, open the Chrome network panel and look: not a single request comes from it.
Why does Chrome ask to "read my browsing history"?
Because sites like YouTube and Instagram change pages without reloading, and without that permission blocking would not work on them. Austral uses it only to know the page changed — and since it talks to no server, none of that leaves your computer.
What is the business model?
Blocking is free and unlimited, forever — that does not change. Austral will sustain itself with Pro, a one-time payment that unlocks the conveniences: scheduling, ready-made categories, pomodoro, breaks, stretches. Later there will be a subscription only for what costs a server every month — syncing across computers and combining with sleep data. We would rather tell you now than surprise you later.
Can I get around it?
You can. Just switch it off from the icon. We do not pretend otherwise — the product bets on reducing the impulse, not on building a cage.
Will I ever need an account?
To block, never. For Pro, also no — you buy it, get a key by email and paste it into the extension; it works on as many computers as you like. An account will only exist for people who want to sync across computers or connect a watch, and it will be asked for at the moment you ask for that.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
It goes away with the extension. Before that, you can export everything as JSON or erase everything, one click each.
Does Austral record anything about me?
It does, on your computer: how many times you tried to open a blocked site, and how long you spent on each domain. Only the domain, never the full address. This is on by default, we explain it during setup, and you can turn it off in two different places.
